Yanks, Sox. Zimmer, Pedro.

Did this actually happen?! Just another classic moment in these two teams storied rivalry. 6 years ago yesterday (Oct. 12, 2003) Pedro Martinez throws Yankees assistant manager Don Zimmer down to the ground in brawl during game 3 of the ALCS.

Pedro had thrown behind and hit a batter in the inning before. Roger Clemens then brushed back Manny. That's when all hell broke loose. Zimmer about made Fenway Park collapse with his head first fall into the ground. No ejections were issued and Zimmer ended up with just a cut nose.

"We've upgraded from a battle to a war" - Boston manager Grady Little

To slow down the war, the commissioners office and the Red Sox agreed to IMMEDIATELY stop selling alcohol. Can you imagine a Yankees, Red Sox playoff game with no more beer after the 4th inning? It's amazing things didn't get even crazier.

Oh wait, things did. A scuffle breaks out in the Yankees bullpen! Two Yankees players get in a fight with Red Sox groundskeeper, Paul Williams Jr. Williams was apperantly cheering the Red Sox on from inside the bullpen and apperantly was not liked by one specific Yankees reliever, Jeff Nelson.

Almost a shame these two teams wont be battling it out in the ALCS this year, then again, it's not! Go Angels!

1956 was one of his greatest seasons. Hit for the Major League Triple crown, the last to lead in all three categories for both leagues. 353 Ave, 52 HR, and 130 RBI. Led to his first of 3 MVP's.

Here is a classic song with some footage of the Mick.

Jack Buck

I have been inspired to start a blog after recently viewing my cousins blog called, "Court Vision." His blog has cool things about different basketball players and things in basketball in general. I have decided to make mine about baseball, the sport I love the most. I am a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan so you might see more on them than other teams. The first tribute I have made is naming my blog, "That's a Winner." This was the famous call of the late Jack Buck, by far my favorite announcer of all time. I love to still listen to a baseball game on the radio because of Mr. Buck. Here is a great video of a few Jack Buck highlights.
